It’s Retromobile week in Paris, and with it are three auctions by RM Sotheby’s, Bonhams | Cars and Artcurial. They start Tuesday, February 4, and run through the end of the week. Which cars has our attention? Here are five to pay attention to

1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti
RM Sotheby’s, Wednesday, February 5

This Ferrari campaigned by N.A.R.T. won overall at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans with legendary drivers Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt. ’Nuff Said. It’s also the only privateer Ferrari to win at Le Mans and the only Ferrari built during Enzo Ferrari’s time to compete in six 24-hour races (three at Le Mans, three at Daytona). Its estimated value? In excess of €25,000,000.

2022 Bugatti Centodieci
RM Sotheby’s, Tuesday, February 4

What’s estimated to sell for the second-highest amount in Paris this week? It’s not something from the 1900s. It’s this 3-year-old limited-edition supercar. Based on the Chiron, this Bugatti paid tribute to the 110th anniversary of marque and the EB 110, hence the name “Centodieci,” Italian for 110. With nearly 1600 horsepower, it does zero to 60 in less than 2.4 seconds. Production was limited to just 10 units, selling for €8 million when new. Will it exceed that mark in 2025? RM Sotheby’s thinks so, placing it somewhere between €10,000,000 and €15,000,000.

1971 BMW 3.0 CSL “Batmobile” vs. 1978 Schnitzer BMW E21 1.4-litre Turbocharged Group 5 Turbo
RM Sotheby’s, Wednesday, February 5 vs. Bonhams | Cars, Thursday, February 6

RM Sotheby’s is auctioning the first car to carry the iconic BMW Motorsport stripes livery. It was also tested by three-time F1 champ, Niki Lauda. Yet, it’s estimated to sell less than a 1978 Schnitzer BMW E21 being sold by Bonhams: €500,000-€650,000 versus €750,000-€950,000. The Schnitzer is one of two cars built, won the 1978 championship of the precursor series to DTM with Harald Ertl, and won a race with Hans-Joachim Stuck behind the wheel. Will those estimates hold true or will there be a surprise?

1937/1948 Packard Super Eight “Yacht” by Chapron
Artcurial, Friday, February 7

File this under odd, but it’s an interesting addition to one’s collection, to say the least. Yes, it’s a Packard, but it’s more yacht, thanks to the coachwork by the famed Henri Chapron. It was created to help market a new invention at the time–the bikini. No bikini-clad models come with this sale–but it should still sell for six figures. Artcurial estimates it to gavel for €250,000 to €350,000.
