Long time car collector Robert Hall and his partner Marcus Heurich have opened Vintage Planet: a new business to buy, sell, consign and service classic cars in Cookeville, Tennessee. While Cookeville might seem quite a ways off the beaten path for this type of business, it is about half way between Chicago and Atlanta, and only an hour from Nashville. Vintage Planet also has the huge benefit of being in the heart of the mid-south, where so many cool, rust-free barn finds are still being found. They’re also a dealer for Superformance cars.
And if the names or Cookeville sound a bit familiar, it’s because Robert also owns The Driven Man and American Powertrain. For over 10 years, these businesses have specialized in five-speed swaps for Jaguars and other cars, as well as any drivetrain needs you might have for an LS or other modern engine swap respectively.
While the impressively decorated 18,000 square foot showroom has your normal Corvettes and Mustangs, it doesn’t take long to notice Robert’s and Marcus’ penchant for European cars. Whether you’re into Lotus Europas, Jaguar E-Types or even BMWs from the 80s, Vintage Planet can help put you into your favorite classic car. The icing on the cake? They can do it at reasonable mid-south prices.
But the benefits don’t stop there, as Vintage Planet also has a few more tricks up their sleeve. Thanks to Marcus’ German connections, they can get your car inspected for Europe’s tough TÜV test. And with his years of experience owning a classic car business in Bavaria, Marcus can also inspect any car you might want to buy from Europe. Another great benefit? Vintage Planet is located on the same campus as their other businesses, so installing fuel injection on classic cars, or even performing engine and transmission swaps are right up their alley. Vintage Planet also has their own service center, so maintaining your new classic couldn’t be easier.
The showroom is visible from I-40 and is easy to get to. Even if you’re just there to browse, this cool new showroom feels more like a museum with over 100 vintage cars on the premises at all times.
