Why are the later Shelby Mustangs affordable? By 1969, Carroll Shelby had lost much of the autonomy he flourished under when building the earlier cars. According to Hagerty, later cars like this 1969 Shelby GT350 Fastback go for far less than earlier examples—$74,900 for a No. 2 '69 versus $435,000 for a No. 2 '65—making this car a relative bargain. It crosses the auction block at Mecum's Las Vegas show October 10-12. Bonus points for the color combo.
