The Record Monza stood apart from the other Fiat-Abarth 750 models with its lower roofline and use of single air scoop on the engine lid. Perhaps more importantly, though, is the Record Monza's extensive racing success, where, according to Fantasy Junction, it "dominated international racing circuits and North American SCCA events in the under 1-liter class."
This 1959 Fiat-Abarth Record Monza offered by Fantasy Junction is one such example, and is suggested to have been the former Abarth works car that participated in the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. The listing also notes that records indicate that this the car may have been owned by Italian driver Ernesto Prinoth, or at the very least was serviced at his garage.
Even though this Record Monza is reported to have been originally fitted with a Bialbero engine, the car currently features a "more reliable replacement single cam engine with generally clean components and sound mechanical attention."
Inside the interior, the car comes finished in black and showcases "areas of use and patina from many of the original features." Outside, the exterior is painted in a period-correct red and white color scheme.
Current mileage is listed at 90,000 kilometers (approximately 56,000 miles), although true mileage is reported to be unknown.
Find this 1959 Fiat-Abarth Record Monza for sale over at Fantasy Junction for $84,500.
