This 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo comes painted in white—all 5000 were—and is a direct competitor for the contemporary Golf GTI. Standard features of the RS Turbos include a limited-slip differential, Recaro seats, and special alloys. With 130 horsepower on tap, the RS could easily keep up with the A2 Golf GTI. The RS Turbo is a far cry from the North American Escort, which, while available with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with 120 horsepower, did not get a limited-slip differential or the better suspension of the European Escort. Bonham's does not list much information on this particular Escort, but it looks as though it may have been in long-term storage. Find it at Bohnam's MPH sale November 26 where they expect it to get between $13,000 and $19,000.
