If only cars could talk: According to the auction listing, this 1967 Chevy Corvette was shipped new to Chevrolet Engineering Center and General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Michigan.
What happened there? We don’t know, but in 1974 the car was put into storage. The Corvette finally emerged in 2016 for a restoration.
But even without the cool backstory, there’s still a lot to like here thanks to its engine code: L71. That means power comes from the 427-cubic-inch engine fed by triple carbs. The engine’s 435 horsepower then passed through a M21 four-speed transmission.
The auction spec sheet also lists side pipes, driver-side mirror, wood-rimmed steering wheel, clock and radio.
This Corvette will be offered via RM Sotheby’s online Palm Beach auction March 20-28.

Odd that they would have spec'd it with California emissions for a Proving Ground car. One thing you definitely didn't want unless you lived in CA and couldn't figure out how to register the car in Nevada.
Also, rotten time to be doing an auto auction. I wouldn't be happy if I had put a car up for auction. With the stock market lately, and uncertainty whether things will get better or worse, I don't think many folks are feeling flush at the moment.
