Car Catcher: Survivor Triumph Stag

This 1973 Triumph Stag comes unrestored and is finished in magenta, a curious choice that the car wears well. Purchased new by Byron Webb—noted Triumph dealer and fan—it’s been maintained meticulously by Mr. Webb’s mechanics and now Canepa, the car's current caretaker and seller.

I remeber seeing one of these for sale at a Lexus dealership down in Naples, FL a while ago. For some reason, it really captured younger Colin's attention (and still does).

The fact that one showed up in "Diamonds Are Forever" certainly didn't help either.

Still one of my favorite colors; I wonder when or if we'll ever see another come up for sale?

Nice Michelotti styling + horrid engine choice = market failure.

A shame as there were other options - the Rover V8 for instance.
