Car Catcher: Vantage-Spec Aston Martin V8 Volante in Rolls-Royce Emerald Green

Not just a standard Aston Martin V8 Volante, but one that’s more or less been upgraded to Vantage specs. During an engine rebuild in 2012, engine displacement was upped from 5.2 to 5.7 liters, compression increased from 8.1 to 10:1, while Vantage camshafts and headers were fitted. The heads were also ported, while a European-spec airbox was installed. The original 42mm carburetors were retained, however, to aid drivability. Dyno testing yielded 314 horsepower at the rear wheels, approximately 30% more than stock.

The car itself has also been refurbished, receiving fresh Koni dampers, restored BBS wheels and fresh wool Wilton carpets. The car was repainted in 2019 to Rolls-Royce Balmoral Green, a period-correct color.

Today, with just over 49,000 miles showing, this beautifully restored and upgraded Aston Martin presents as an elegant statement of power and prestige,” reads the Fantasy Junction listing. “The emerald green paint is smooth and glossy with a deep luster containing just the right amount of metal flake to make the reflections glimmer in the sunlight. The body work and paint are of very high quality with excellent finish throughout the exterior surfaces. The door jambs, and inner panels have been finished with equal attention to detail.“

Asking price is $179,500.
