The family of motorsports legend Don Panoz announced the creation of an endowment for the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. The funding will help the nonprofit to continue “its ongoing and nonprofit mission of preserving the legacy and history of all facets of American motorsports.”
In addition, there will be a new long-term display dubbed “Don’s Garage” at the museum on the grounds of Daytona International Speedway. It will showcase Panoz race cars and memorabilia over the course of his career in the sport. The first two vehicles set to be displayed are already on location as the MSHFA. They are the Stars-n-Stripes Panoz LMP1 roadster and the Stars-n-Stripes Deltawing.
“I and the Panoz family, are proud and honored to help support what we like to think of is the ‘Church of Motorsports,’ which recognizes all forms of motorsports history,” said Don’s son Dan Panoz in a MSHFA press release. “The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America pays the greatest tribute to any and all forms of motorsports. It is amazing to see the depth of subjects covered under one roof. I know that Don Panoz himself would be a huge fan and a patriot of the efforts going on there.”
