Is there a Ferrari out there worth $100 million?

Something we noticed at the end of Mecum’s listing for a one-of-three 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/LM Competizione Speciale set to cross the block in Kissimmee in January:

This example’s sister car, Preston Henn’s 275 GTB/LM S/N 06885, placed 3rd Overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1965. S/N 06885 is surrounded by lore and mystique within the Ferrari community as it could become the first $100 Million Ferrari

We’ve watched cars trade hands for dozens of millions, but could a Ferrari that trophied at Le Mans really fetch $100 million, putting it in the rarefied air shared with the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupe” that sold for $142,000,000 in 2022? And based on the sister car’s value, any guesses what this one will bring in Florida?

There is probably some rich car fan out there that would find it worth that sort of money to them to be the owner and get bragging rights.  That happens a lot with one=off cars.  And they usually don't understand why the rest of us don't take it as a mark of sainthood rather than an indication of daftness.

Hmm - I wonder how that would affect the value of the cars that came first and second that year (both Ferrari 250 LMs.  Or the very desirable Porsche 904/6 that came 4th.

Oooooh.   Ahhhhh.

At least to me.  But that is a beautiful car.

It is stunning. Just based on looks, this or a 250 GTO?
