Service of Thanksgiving for Sir Stirling Moss on May 8

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for Sir Stirling Moss at Westminster Abbey on May 8 in London. In addition to the service, there’ll be a selection of some of the most iconic cars related to Moss on hand. One of those vehicles will be the Mille Miglia-winning Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR 722.

Within the Rotunda at the Royal Automobile Club will also be a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz W196. The Mille Miglia car will move to the Rotunda on May 9 and be on display for one week.

As far as the service, it intends to “celebrate his life as a racer, friend, father, gentleman, joker, and international icon and will allow the motorsport community and fans to come together to pay tribute to the legendary Sir Stirling Moss. Speakers at the service will include Sir Jackie Stewart, motor sport journalist and commentator, Simon Taylor and The Duke of Richmond and Gordon.”
