Mike Cook: The World Has Lost a Legendary British Car Historian

Mike Cook was just cool. He was a friend, a fellow enthusiast and, for many years, the PR manager for all of Britain’s best-loved brands, including MG, Triumph and Jaguar. He also wrote about British cars and, back in the day, raced them as well. Last night we received word that Mike passed away.

In 2009 we did a piece on Mike for British Motoring, the house publication of Moss Motors. Read it here and take a few minutes to get to know Mike. He will be missed.

That article is a nice tribute to the man, someone who had an positive impact on the British car scene in America.

I get that people pass on occassioanlly, but this one hit me hard. He was such a welath of knowledge and such a nice guy. I visited his office at Jaguar a couple of years ago. What would I have said or done differently, if I knew it would be the lst time I would see him?

Great man for our hobby and sport. Great car guy. Great Triumph guy! While I didn't know Mike personally, I knew about him ... like all Triumph guys know about Kas, we knew about Mike. For a while he had a great column in Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car Mag. He will be missed.
