Now if the part is out of stock, it will be out of stock everywhere.
Moss Motors Ltd., one of the country’s go-to sources for British car parts, will acquire Victoria British Ltd., another big name in the market.
“It was not a decision that we made lightly,” Becky Hanrahan, President of Victoria British, said in a release. “We were Victoria British before we were LMC Truck, but we know we have not been giving the British market the attention it deserves. We feel our customers would be better served by a company whose primary focus is the British car market.”
“As a long-standing name in the British sports car community, we recognize the rich history of Victoria British and will do our best to carry on their legacy,” Ed Moss, President, Moss Motors, said in the same release. “It’s an exciting chapter for Moss Motors and we look forward to bringing together the best traditions of both companies to continue serving the industry by supporting car owners, restoration businesses and British sports car enthusiasts alike.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NOVEMBER 20, 2020After more than 30 years, Victoria British Ltd., a division of Long Motor Corporation, has decided to pass the baton to Moss Motors Ltd. to carry on the tradition of supplying car parts and accessories for British car owners around the world.

Too bad they didn't try to sell Black Dragon for Datsun and Mazda parts. They just shut that down.
I'm SAD to hear this. Moss is usually way more expensive than Victoria British.
Good move. VB are shzt-for-brains as far as any knowledge of the cars and parts they deal in. They have shafted me more than once even after I called and asked them to go get the part and make sure it was what their catalogue said it was. When it arrived it was of course wrong.
Moss, for the most part, is run by car enthusiasts. They still have challenges with off shore manufactured parts quality, but their heart is in the right place.
Sat to hear this too, mainly because competition (as in racing) improves the breed. There are still a few other sources for classic british car parts, nothing the size of Moss, of course, but if you are into MGs, MGAs in particular, there is still Scarborough Faire.
So, David, from your position as a leader in the British car scene, what is your take on this?
Is the market for classic British car parts fading? Maybe the traditional British car fans are getting too old to want to balance SU carbs and tap on fuel pumps, and the younger generations don't appreciate the charm of a Little British Car? Even Moss Motors has diversified to accommodate Miata owners. What does the future look like for British car enthusiasts?
I feel like Victoria British was a key part of the "race to the bottom" on parts quality. They seemed to consistently find worse quality parts that they could sell for $0.25 less than better stuff and the quality of available parts suffered for it. Of course, someone was buying the crappy parts so we're not innocent in all of this either.
