Cool stuff.

While the ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring is the main event of the weekend, the historic support races are every bit a thrilling part of the schedule. For 2025, the usual Nürburgring 24h-Classic competed in a 3.5-hour contest on the full 24-hour course on Saturday morning, while the cars of the Tourenwagen Legenden series stuck to their own shorter event on the GP track.
The 24h-Classic features former VLN series cars of many eras, with a lot of bias toward the 1980s and 1990s (we’re not complaining), with E30 and E36 BMWs, FWD VWs, 911s and even a Japanese car or two cutting it up on the Green Hell.
The Tourenwagen Legenden featured touring cars of several eras–again biased right in the Gen X wheelhouse–and also featured several examples of the carbon-tub German touring car era, which many feel was the technological pinnacle of the series. These cars featured full carbon monocoques, with high-tech rocker suspensions and F1-derived engines draped in recognizable bodywork. The make glorious noises at ridiculous speeds.
Here are a few sights from the track and paddock. If you go to a Nürburgring 24 weekend, make sure to get there in time to witness the historic support races.
