Instead of modifying and upgrading Porsche 911s, what if Singer reimagined something more extreme–like, say, a Formula 1 car?
No need to imagine, because that’s exactly what U.K.-based company TDF Limited can do for you with its flagship product, the TDF/One.
Just like Singer, you’ll need a donor. And, in this case, that donor is a genuine, race-used F1 chassis, circa 2011-2017:
Each TDF/One begins with a genuine Formula1® chassis which has competed in a World Championship race. Each one hand-selected and meticulously inspected by the experts at TDF to verify its authenticity and race history.
To help with drivability and durability, TDF modifies or upgrades several components.
One of the more notable changes is the powertrain. In place of the original powerplant, TDF installs a turbocharged inline-four engine, developed in collaboration with Mountune, that’s mated to a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox. Depending on the buyer's preferences, the new engine can produce anywhere from 450 to 600 horsepower.
While many of the original aerodynamic components are retained, TDF improves the car’s handling by fitting unique Pirelli tires (available in soft, medium and hard compounds) that are designed “to run from cold without warming blankets.”
In total, the TDF/One weighs approximately 1500 pounds with the driver and is capable of speeds exceeding 200 mph.
