The Concours d’Lemons never ceases to surprise folks with some of the wackiest rides that somehow make it onto the showfield. And the 2025 Florida Concours d’Lemons certainly lived up to that reputation.
Heck, the Worst of Show wasn’t even a car–sort of. It was a tractor. Not one of those fancy tractors, such as a Lamborghini or a Porsche or even a John Deere. No, it was a 1960 Volkswagen Orchard tractor presented by Jeff Stoyer. But it’s not any ordinary tractor. Of course not.
“This came from Okeechobee, Arcadia, Florida, where all the orange groves were in the ’60s and ’70s,” Jeff explained after accepting the Worst of Show honors. “The farmer that owned the orange groves, with the rows of trees, didn’t want to spend money on a new tractor. So, he cut up two Volkswagen buses … used both transaxles and welded some frame stuff.”
