While not every expert agrees that a Sprite needs a Panhard bar to locate the rear end, we felt that our Bugeye should have one: We’re seeking maximum performance, and The Winner’s Circle offers a kit available for only $234.95.

Before we installed the kit, we had the bar and mounting bracket powder coated at the Blast Masters.

Installation was quite easy. The mounting bracket mounts between the fuel tank and the car’s body. A couple of extra holes need to be drilled for the brackets.

You can then mount the actual bar to the mounting bracket with the included rod ends. The other end is mounted to the upright on the rear end.

The Panhard bar should sit parallel to the rear axle housing. Once our car is on the ground and full of fuel, we can complete that step. Then we can remove any slop using the rod ends.
