We didn’t just send our Bugeye Sprite’s body to Blast Masters for media blasting. We also stripped down the suspension and filled the body with any and all parts that needed to be media blasted and/or powder coated.
The take-home message here: Properly planning your restoration can save time and money.
Powder coating is not the answer for everything on a car, though, so some of our parts will just be blasted and then painted.
Powder coating will not stand up to intense heat that well, so it’s not suitable for things like brake calipers. It can also hide cracks, so maybe it’s not the best for some suspension parts.
Again, a little planning here will pay some big dividends.
