We are on the home stretch of rust repair.
The cowl is all we need to finish.
Almost done.
Just a little more.
We’ve finally tackled the hardest part of the rust repair: The rear cowl where the top mounts. We cut away the old area where an old botched repair had just made things worse. We welded in a used piece from a parts car and ground the welds away, making the repair hard to see.
We’re down to three small rust repairs and the car will be ready for body filler and paint.
We also have cleaned up the body’s lines a little bit by filling some of the trim holes, removing the side marker lights and filling the holes, and filling the backup light holes. We’ll be running small, intense backup lights under the rear bumpers.
