Marking the cam bearing cap for the new cam’s lobe center.
The cams’ lobe and bearing surfaces have been coated with grease to ease break-in.
The engine is just about ready to bolt back in.
We just need to bolt in the peripherals, like these exhaust manifolds.
And something really needs to be done with these nasty Webers.
The camshafts went in last night, we’re using International Auto Parts carbureted performance cams on this engine. These are reported to have a good power band all the way up to 7000 rpm. Since they have a 102-degree lobe center, we had to remark our cam bearing caps to match the crank and cam’s TDC. This is pretty easy to do with the supplied card from IAP.
