Hotrodding: Part of the Porsche 911's history since day one?

Modified Porsches aren’t new–in fact, the brand’s foundation literally stands upon those first Volkswagen Beetle-based creations dating back more than 75 years. And once Porsche became a recognized manufacturer soon after, the modifications didn’t stop, with the brand–and its customers–so often in the pursuit of speed. Hotrodding has simply been part of Porsche’s DNA since day one.

“Porsche Outlaws: Stuttgart Hot Rods” follows that history and the culture that it spawned, up through today’s creations–road and rally, cooled by air and water. The book doesn’t limit itself to 911- and 356-based builds, either, highlighting performance builds based on other loved chassis, including the mid-engine and transaxle cars. An engaging foreword by Hurley Heywood kicks off the story.
