If you want a prototype that comes with a wealth of history, this 1995 Riley & Scott Mk III might be the one you’ve been waiting for. It was raced to many wins and accolades, including the 1997 24 Hours of Daytona overall win. In that race, the following names drove it to victory: Elliott Forbes-Robinson, John Schneider, Rob Dyson, John Paul Jr., Butch Leitzinger, Andy Wallace and James Weaver.

Dyson Racing campaigned chassis No. 001 from 1995-1997 in the IMSA GT Championship series. It won that series’ title for both the team and driver (Butch Leitzinger) in 1997. Other notable names to turn laps in competition with the car include Hurley Haywood and Tommy Kendall.

After spending more than 20 years in a museum, AJR Restorations completely disassembled and rebuilt the car. It’s eligible to race in many historic events, including the Le Mans Classic (accepted for 2023), Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Masters Endurance Legends, SVRA, and HSR, including the Classic 24 at Daytona and Sebring Classic 12 Hour. It was also displayed this year in the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and the 24 Hours of Daytona.

For those interested in the technical specs, it has a 6.0-liter Ford V8, rebuilt by Lozano Brothers Porting (LBP). A March/Hewland transmission delivers the power, rebuilt by Bill Rader Motorsports. The uprights were rebuilt by Riley Motorsports and the shocks by Penske.
