This 1951 Ferrari 340 America is not only a “rare and exceptional model” (one of seven), but also has quite the racing history as well.
Its racing resume includes the 1951 Le Mans 24, 1951 Tourist Trophy, 1953 Sebring 12 Hour and 1954 Daytona Speed Week. In fact, at the 1951 Tourist Trophy event, future Formula 1 champion Mike Hawthorn competed with this car.
Despite its racing background, it still maintains the same matching-numbers engine, which has been meticulously restored. The car enters the market after being in the same collection since 1975.
Find this 1951 Ferrari 340 America up for auction from Artcurial, with an estimated winning bid of €5,000,000-€8,000,000 ($5,429,000-$8,686,000 USD).
