As the 930 generation came to a close, Porsche started its Exclusive Manufaktur or Sonderwunsch (Special Request) program. Built by Porsche Special Wishes for the company’s well-connected, well-heeled German customers, these cars, just 42 of them, came with some special goodies.
Some of those exclusive features included the car’s 330-horsepower, 3.3-liter flat-six engine and five-speed transaxle. The engine gets a boost from the WLS (Werksleistungssteigerung) upgrades to ignition timing and fuel injection, an enlarged turbocharger and wastegate, a bigger front oil cooler and a non-catalyzed exhaust system with quad tips.
Other unique items? An Exclusive Manufaktur steering wheel, limited-slip differential, power sunroof and power-adjustable sport seats.
Find this 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo S “WLS” Coupe up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $225,000-$300,000.
