Want to win at a concours? The easiest way is to buy a winner. That’s what this Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint has going for it. It won its class (Postwar Preservation) at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Here’s why.

It is believed to be just one of 39 examples of the 1900 C Super Sprint Coupe with the Zagato coachwork. But the story is more interesting than that. After Giuseppe Strippoli bought the car in 1969, he parked it in a garage where it sat for four decades.

In 2013, a collector from Milan, Corrado Lopresto, discovered the Alfa Romeo. Lopresto then had it undergo a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration while trying to keep the car as original as possible. Apparently, that restoration impressed the judges at Pebble Beach, with it taking top prize in its class. In 2022, the car underwent around $20,000 of mechanical preparation for historic racing events. Now, it’s as ready for concours as famed historic racing events such as the Mille Miglia, which it’s eligible for.

Find this 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint Coupé by Zagato at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $850,000-$1,050,000.
