Carroll Shelby commissioned this car to replicate the Green Hornet prototype

The legendary Green Hornet was one of two prototypes Shelby built ahead of the 1968 Ford Mustang California Special. The other one, Little Red, won out, but Carroll Shelby loved the Green Hornet so much that he had to build another one.

Under the hood, a Shelby 428-cubic-inch V8 produces 400 horsepower. It uses a modified 3-speed C6 automatic transmission.

The Carroll Shelby Foundation owned the car until 2019. The car comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Carroll Shelby himself.

I always liked the look of the California Special. It was just a little different than the rest of the Mustangs on the road.
