Need to evade Inspector Clouseau? Well, this 1960 Ferrari 250 GT has a track record of trying to do so, being featured in a getaway scene in the 1964 film “The Pink Panther.” (Note: No gorilla suit included.)
Actor Robert Wagner, who was also one of the gorilla-suited stars in the movie, owned this car, from 1963 to 1965.
The Ferrari was delivered new to Prince Alessandro “Dado” Ruspoli. To give you an idea of who Ruspoli was, he was described by a journalist as “a hedonist of epic proportions, with an ego as large as his sphere of social influence.” That sphere of influence included various celebs. In fact, Audrey Hepburn was photographed in-period with the car.
Find this 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolet up for auction at Gooding and Company, with an estimated value of $1,000,000-$1,300,000.
