Shelby Mustang GT350 with a special Le Mans connection

Who might have owned this 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350? None other than John Wyer, the man behind all those Le Mans championships.

Known as a pivotal figure in Ford’s racing history, especially for his work with the Ford GT40, John Wyer purchased the Shelby for Ford Advanced Vehicles. The auction house believes it was his personal vehicle.

Seven years later, he sold the car to a Paris-based mechanic. With the help of another legend, Claude Dubois, the Shelby was then sold to its current owner.

Dubois, Le Mans class winner, former Shelby importer and friend of Carroll Shelby, supervised the 2015-’18 restoration.

In total, the restoration cost  €188,000, or approximately $210,000. The Shelby sports the iconic Ivy Green livery, nearly perfect interior, original HiPo Code K engine and rare original Magnum 500 wheels.
