According to Wikipedia, the Alfa Romeo 164 was renamed the 168 for Hong Kong and Malaysia, as the number 164 has connotations related to death. The number 168 is believed to relate to prosperity.
At any rate, this example from 1991 is noted to have been previously owned by an Alfa Romeo club member.
The seller says the 164 is mechanically sound, though could benefit from light cosmetic work.
