If you’re a Peter Sellers fan, you might not want to miss out on this opportunity. He drove this Aston Martin DB4GT as the getaway car in the 1963 film, “The Wrong Arm of the Law.” Sellers is also believed to have owned it briefly, too.
While the film depicted Sellers behind the wheel of the car in a high-speed chase, most of the actual driving at speed was done by Ken Rudd. Rudd owned the largest Aston Martin dealership at the time, K.N. Rudd Ltd., and eventually became known for his work on sports cars through Ruddspeed.
After filming, Aston Martin replaced the cylinder block with a 4.0-liter one. It was installed four months before the first 4.0-liter DB5 engine was built. Therefore, this is the only DB4GT with a 4.0-liter engine fitted from the factory during the period.
Find this 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT Coupé up for auction at Bonhams, with an estimated winning bid of £2,200,000-£2,600,000 (approximately $2,856,920-$3,376,360).
