The 1st gens are better anyways. You can get a running second gen pretty easily for well under $2k in decent shape if you shop well.
Still good cars, but not overbuilt goodness like a 1st gen.

Yeah, I'm not interested in a 2nd gen. They are nice in a different way, but not what I'm looking for at the moment. Anybody around the corner from Cove City, NC that can just drive over to the guy's house and check the car out for me? I still haven't heard from him through e-mail. Grrr...

Tried to do a reverse address search in hopes of getting the phone number for the above Craigslist ad. No luck...anybody have any ideas?
Call the Craven County NC deeds and register office, find out who owns the property and then do a search on them?
That's a lot of stalking for a car that i don't think even hits the top 5 in terms of examples listed in this thread.
In reply to Swank Force One:
Yeah, I know. It's just relatively close. I don't have the time to drive 6 hours for a car that may or may not be a good one, so I'm trying to jump on ones that are close by.
Both of those are a little farther than I'm able to go, unfortunately. No, I don't think that red one has been posted in here yet.
Haha, thanks guys. I pretty much search the local area now, or at least just VA. A project is out, shipping is a possibility, but I hate the idea of buying something without seeing it. I know I could get someone to check it out for me, but I like to get my eyes & hands on a car first. I'm trying to find a "new" DD for under a grand, so I'm sort of ruling these out for now. Although I still do search for them every night on Craigslist...
Well...if you're looking for the Ford Probe turboooo...here's 2 cali. All this talk about them got me looking on CL. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4495858037.html http://modesto.craigslist.org/cto/4454475344.html
It doesn't inspire confidence when a guy writes 36k in the ad heading and then the body of the ad reveals that the car has 136k, but 36k on the head. He must be on probe talk.
Crackhead price. If his ad is true, that number goes down to 2 because I brought one of them to PA.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.
337k miles. $4k. Bumper/hood damage. You know... because those parts are SUPER easy to find these days.
Send him an email offering to buy it for $400, just pretend that he fat fingered an extra zero on the end. See how long it takes for him to catch on.
I seriously doubt that is one of 3 in the state. These things aren't THAT rare yet. Or are they?
I would believe it though, if my '88 Turbo 626 without a sunroof is one of 10 or so in the country. But there's no way to know.

They may honestly be that rare... I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if someone told me there was less than 500 MX6 GTs remaining on the road, and most of them west of the Mississippi.
I've only seen one running one that i can remember that i DIDN'T own.
Ads for these things get posted on here pretty often...Seems like the rate is at least 1 a month, though they come in clumps. If there were only 500 I don't think we'd see them for sale so often. But again, it's hard to say for sure.
Maybe I shouldn't scrap my red one. But another problem is that there comes a point when there aren't enough parts to support the existing cars. Some have to die to feed the others.
I haven't seen it yet, though. And within about..... a day or two of me getting my mitts on it, it will never run again.
