Nice car, three pedal too.  Not real familiar with the platform, I'm pretty sure it's whatever preceded the fox body.

I'd happily pay $1k for that if it was local. smiley

My dad bought a 4dr of that same year and model.  It was 302 powered though.  The chassis is similar to the early 70's Mustang chassis so many of the parts that fit that will fit this. Sort of like a Ford Fairmont and the Fox Mustang relationship.  The car does look nice and considering it's age it can't have been driven much in the snow/salt. But then again central Il doesn't get that much snow that doesn't melt quickly.

I had the 1975 Ford version (Granada) of it, but mine had a 3 speed stick with no power anything. It was a pig, but I'd buy this one for no other reason than I have a high school reunion to go to this summer.

Very cool. My parents had one of these and a Granada when I was a kid.

Not something you see on the road anymore.

I am old enough to know better, but didn't realize these came in manual form. How low we've gone, now manuals are almost extinct.

Basically just an "upmarket" Falcon/Maverick.  Transmission is a 3 speed manual with 4th an overdrive.  Engine, depending on displacement, produced 80 or 90 horsepower.

Aside from the mechanics is shares with Falcon/Maverick/ and some early Mustangs, there is almost no parts support for these, like there is for the Falcon.

And yet, I find these and their Ford Granada cousins quite attractive.  For a grand, can you really go wrong here?

BTW, these had a manual transmission on the 6 cylinder and the smaller V8, as there was an optional 351 through 1977.  A manual transmission in a Monarch...or Granada should be quite rare nowadays.

Who was that around here that had a LT1 and a T56 that needed a home?

Wonder if a turbo I-6 300 would fit in there. They make some damn sweet power.

Also, from Wikipedia " According to the May 1976 edition of Car and Driver, three out of five of Ford’s top executives, including Henry Ford II, used the Mercury Grand Monarch Ghia as their personal car", so you'd have that to throw around...

The Grand Monarch Ghia, was a limited edition model that was available only as a 4 door sedan.  Produced in 75 and 76, it had as standard equipment pretty much every optional extra of a non-Grand Monarch. Including 4 wheel disc brakes and full power accessories.  It was discontinued to make way for the Lincoln Versailles.

How is this car still available?

C Some one buy this, and start a build thread so I don't have to.  That way I can stay married.

The 300 will "fit", but it's tight .
