Who did you deal with, I'm not getting any good deals on this one.
Remember no one deals when the cars are moving on their own. Our lot can not keep an Elantra, Sonata or Tucson for more than two days. Santa Fes may be around a week or two. I hear all of the loaners were sold as well as all of the demos as well.
I know there are both a 2.0t and 3.8L Genesis Track in red on the lot.

ya touring can be had alot cheaper. than the new sedan....
^ There's a reason for that. The Touring, while a nice car, is still "old technology". It's still running the 4spd auto or 5-spd manual with the older Beta II 2.0L. Great engine, but no where near the same caliber as the newer engines for refinement, mileage and power. Plus the chassis is the older HD (2007-09) Elantra.
I'm hoping for a new Touring on the MD chassis with a Turbo GDI engine.
OK you guys looks like they are going to meet my repayment demands, so what are the wheel offset and lug spacing, the steelies will be for my winter tires.
I am getting exited about this might have it in my mitts tomorrow if all goes as expected.
5x114.3 bolt pattern, ~42-46 offset.
I know.... tell that to the other guys though will ya? www.elantraclub.com is a good place for adult information on these cars. There are more active sites, but you end up dealing with a lot younger crowd that is into the ....ummm..... "ricer" side of things.
Bob,
Would I need spacers to run +40 offset rims?
Gratuitous hotlink
No. At least, you shouldn't. TheXD chassis (01-06) ran the same 46mm offset stock wheels, and a wider (7") wheel with a 40 offset is perfect. The stock wheels sit in a little much IMO.
Thanks again Bob, here is the new workhorse.

Nice! Some 17" Tiburon wheels would look great on that BTW.

Yep, those do not suck either.
I was thinking the 17" sonata wheels would look awesome too. Contrast on the purchase.
Thanks John, will you bring your new Civic on the Ohio drive

Is Aussie hard core GRM? He has staging lanes in his driveway... Hell yeah!
Glad you got what you wanted ;)

Wait, that's a new workhorse? I'd take that sucker back in and complain, doesn't look very new to me...
That model (no, not that kind of model) is a little worse for the wear, but the car rocks.
Thanks guys
jUST WATCHED a 6-spd GLS auto-x yesterday and it made me very jealous. THose things corner flatter bone stock than my Elantra did AFTER springs and sway bar upgrades..... not fair I tell you .... not fair!
Nice looking car, it should treat you very well.
Did its first day on the job today, 400 miles and it was an easy driver, only issue so far is locating 3rd has a couple of times put me into 5th, I suspect (hopefully) that is the loose nut behind the wheel and a little practice will eliminate that.
XM radio was included free for 3 months and I am sold already.
Wheels are ordered

Congrats on the new car.
Please update us on the fuel mileage. I'm wondering if the 40 mpg is achievable with normal driving.
Thanks,
Joe
