It's like Jerry telling George that he turned down "the menage"

For anyone interested, I've put this project car for sale on ebay. Opening bid is $4500.00 I WILL separate engine and body for a serious buyer. Search 1976 Ferrari 308 & you'll see it. Its the cheap one!
for anyone interested, the body sold for $3700 & I posted the engine & transmission on ebay at an opening bid of $2400 with free shipping. That price came from successful completed listings. I'm open for offers if anyone want's the drivetrain.
sorry guys, but I did offer this project up here for over a month at a great price with offfers to trade, but no one stepped up. The Subaru STi engine & LSD transmission is still available if anyone wants it. Reduced to $1900 for both. I will take reasonable offers & break them up if only one or the other is needed.
hey guys, I purchased the ferrari and I will be completing it. im definitely going a different route, one that involves a v8 engine. i can keep this thread alive if people are interested.

If it is a non-Ferrari V8 then sure! If it is a Ferrari V8 then yes. If its a non-Ferrari V8 out of a 70s Caddilac or made from two motorcycle engines-WELCOME ABOARD!
Thanks! Im not sure if Im wild enough for this forum! Background: Ive built a jeep wrangler when i was 14 from the ground up with a sbc. Ive owned everything from a subaru brat to a BMW 540i 6 speed. Im a huge cummins fan and have built three. I built a suzuki samurai with a 1.6 vw diesel that i put compound turbos on (made 90hp!) and now after owning about 15 cars i get to say i own a Ferrari! Im a student at McPherson College where im getting my degree in Automotive Restoration. My plans are to use the subaru transaxle with a gm LS engine and adding twin turbochargers . I almost went tranverse with a 3000gt VR4 engine and trans but decided not to. ill should be able to update often!

I think you're going to do just fine around here. Please continue this thread. It's very cool to watch it start and evolve and change hands and it will be awesome to see it drive finally.

Or look into straight-cut gears. 90% of the time it's 3rd or 4th that breaks.
LS swap you you say? you should fit in just fine around here. The grassroots circle of life continues. The fact of the matter is, that 2.0 turbo had no business being here in the first place.

You bought the Fubarru project...that is like the key to the city around this place. Now, you must live up to our high and delusional expectations.
And please do so in a consistent paced manner so that we don't have to wait too long for your updates.

You might look into what the V8 Fiero guys are doing to drop either LSX or Northstars in. I think they probably have an easier solution for you than adapting the subie box. Also, I'd bet a transverse V8 would fit in there like it was made for it or something.
Man ! i dont know if i can cover everything. im officially going LS. I chose a 4.8l for its cost and displacement. also, since it is iron should handle boost well. Im still waiting on the transmission but have Cad files for the custom flywheel. i just need the adapter plate drawn up now. I bought the trubos and will be making 180 degree headers that feed into two t3 flanges. Im hoping the backpressure doesn't ruin the sound of the headers. im hoping the trans can hold until i finish everything. the engine and trans will be left relatively stock until i finish restoring the whole car. I bought all new calipers for the car since it didnt have any. the rears are repros that cost $900 and the fronts are porsche 911s. also, I started on the body, im making a new door skin for the passenger side now. I really need to get the tranny so i can get it all test fit.

I think he is showing us what else he has built.
You bought the fubaru so you fit in fine, even if it's the LSerarri now.
You'll need to log in to post.
