Time for an update, the MGB is almost back together again, we found another issue that helped cause the one wheel dance at $2014, The driver's side rear coilover was set at least 2" higher than the passenger side, it was an error by one of our crew that was not seen until we got it onto the lift.
We have sourced an adjustable rear sway bar and with our eyes firmly on the rear geometry, we should be able to leave in a straight line.
While the engine was out we found a couple of issues in the way we installed it for $2014 that were sorted, now the engine sits square in the chassis.
$2015 is going to be the best year yet.
The MGB is almost back together, the suspension is all but done, still making the rear sway bar end links then it will be completed.
The engine is now sitting correctly as the trans housing was modified to allow the trans to sit in correctly.

Nice! And it did not try to kill the driver this time. BONUS!
After a near disaster from the TH400 bellhousing fracturing, and after speaking at length with Andrew Nelson, we have overcome and are back on track.
SFI bellhousing added after cutting off the broken one, remember this is a one piece trans and bellhousing.
Installed the replacement SFI and carefully reinstalled the trans. whew, disaster averted and the work continues
I wish my car had enough power to fracture the bellhousing

Was that a solid engine mount issue?
Actually and honestly it was due to the torque converter not being seated correctly, not at all to do with power
I'm excited to see how this car does. Sounds glorious.

No
"No" because it did not have solid mounts or "no" because it was engineered to work with solid mounts?

Did you inspect the pump drive ? I have seen an incorrectly installed converter destroy a pump.
It wasn't running Stan, it just let out an audible crack and after a search the damaged bell was found, so the pump is safe

Yes. but is the DRIVER licensed to run 8.50's??
Can't run 9.99's or better without a NHRA competition license.
