I recently acquired  this ugly gem.  It's an '04 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport... And Yes! The previous owner did put a Legacy Outback fender on it..  SMH.

The car was put into a ditch by the PO's wife, all damage is bolt on body panels on the front.

The original fender was in the trunk, so I unbent it so it could bolt back onto the car.  I think it looks much better.  I am on the lookout for the correct color body parts to repair it.

Coming from 80's & 90's turbo sporty cars, I find myself wanting to say I dont like it.  I can't say that with a clear concious.  The AWD will be great in the winter as I drive around 40 miles each way to work usually before the sun is up.  Mileage was at 100,880 when I picked it up, I've put roughly 3,000 miles on it and find its utility more and more convenient.   Timing belt service will be done in the next couple weeks, the A/C blows cold, and its average of 25mpg here in the mountains is great.

The interior is pretty clean, I swapped out my bluetooth Pioneer headunit, not a huge fan of the automatic transmission, but for the price I'm not gonna complain.  If anyone sees a green 04-05 in a salvage yard in or around WV & surrounding states, please let me know.

I was able to locate a drivers door, also I installed a set of cheap coilovers, which I love the firmed up ride, however at the most extended of the adjustment, they are a an 1.5" shorter then the OEM.  So either I'm gonna look into Spacer blocks for the strut tops or picking up Forrester struts that are 2" longer then the OEM.

I also as a precaution did a timing belt & waterpump service which was uneventful.   Recently it was throwing a CEL p1443 for Evap Leak and another code I cant recall off the top of my head for the fuel purge solenoid.   I replaced both solenoids (one under the pass side intake, the other above the charcoal canister behind the rear wheel.   After refueling the car runs rough, from my reading the charcoal canister has been contaminated from overfilling and obstructing the vent.  That's next on my to do list.
