Robbie's tire thread and the other recent threads on Jaaags gave me the reminder and motivation to give my Fast Cat some love.  Let's get these tires rotated:

Yes, still working in the driveway.

The chassis is stiff enough to jack this side of the car up and remove both tires with a single jack point.

This is what 12k miles, several burn outs and 370 horsepower will do to your right rear tire.  Yes, they were WAY overdue for rotating.

Indy-kid #5 helped me wink

Then we took the Jaaaag thru the carwash for a bath.

All cleaned up yes

What are the plans for the scratches?  Ready to go all Dusterdb13 and strip it to bare metal?

In reply to Stampie (FS) :

Nope.  I don't have that kind of energy.

My plan is to just drive & enjoy the car as-is.  I'm trying to devote my wrenching energy and time towards getting the TR4 LS swap completed.

The Jaaaag had it's first failure today:

I was out demonstrating to my visiting brother-in-law, the Jaaaag's ability to make the rear tires smoother, when I suddenly smelt coolant and the low coolant like comes on.

This little 90 degree fitting broke.

Luckily I was only a mile away from home, so it didn't leave me stranded. yes

I broke all of those trying to take everything apart. Expensive for what they are.

Did you get that parts car though?

It's broke.  Now your only option is to SBC swap it.

Could you remove the plastic part and tap the aluminum part for NPT, and then thread in a brass fitting.?    Could then use common rubber hose.

I would do the NPT job anywhere there is a plastic fitting of that style. They seldom last as long as this one!

Thanks for the tips guys, forgot to update this with the outcome.

I went searching over on the Jag forums ( What? there are other forums? ) and found a quick  solution available at the FLAPS to get me back on the road.

It's a PCV connection hose for a Ford somethin' or another.  So the Jag continues on with daily driver duties.

We've got a 4.5 hour road trip planned to grab a special pic.  Tune in tomorrow for an update.....

Thanks guys. We are home now.  The Jaaaag performed flawlessly: it really swallows up the miles in comfort.

We spent the day checking out some amazing cars at the Aurburn, Cord, Duesenberg museum.

Note the writing on the building's windows in the background

I went there several years ago.  I went to the Gilmore museum first, then drove to the ACD museum. There was a smaller museum next door to it that has an eclectic collection of cars as well. Did you manage to go into that one?

It's a drizzling Autumn evening here in Indiana, so what better way to celebrate the occasion than rolling around in the gravel driveway again.

Note the air gap under the rear wheel.  That's a rigid Jaaag chassis for you.

One of my favorite memories is you drilling the inner fender of this car before you even handed over the cash to buy it.  Still amazed the dude let you.
