First, we need to go UP from the unmuffler:

Then I'll need a 6" straight to connect to the left side of this, up over the frame, and into the fenderwell ahead of the wheel. Man, this took forever.

How's the solar flux working for you?  I have a jar somewhere, but never really used it much.  What do you mix it with?

We used it fairly regularly on the FSAE team.  Did a good job.  Mixed with water, I think?  Been a couple years since I've messed with it though

I tried it with water a time or two, but did not feel like it mixed well.  Google (well, Harris, the mfr) says mix with alcohol and that methanol is preferred.  I would expect regular rubbing alcohol would work fine but haven't tried it.

Maybe it was alcohol.  Like I said, it was a while back.

I bought the Solar Flux years ago, because it seemed more convenient/cost-effective than having another Argon tank and reg.  It works well, I mix it with Methyl Hydrate at the moment, because that's what I have on hand. The tin recommends Methanol.  I had recently used it on the outside of tubing where I was welding on the inside.

All of these welds were done with back-gassing off a second regulator Tee'd off my tank, I just haven't put the tin away.

Thanks for the info.  I need to put a tee in after the flow meter where I can back purge, but I am planning some stainless sheetmetal work that could probably benefit from the flux.  Now I just gotta find it..

I would T and run a second reg.  I backflow only around 5cfh, and you need a bit of time for it to fill up the space.

Definitely need another band clamp - there is no way this psycho corkscrew of a tailpipe can be one piece and installable.

Cool! What are your first impressions of these? I'm thinking they'd look good on the winter steelies for the wife's car.

I have no idea.  It's an alcohol.

They're pretty.  I haven't mounted them yet, so I don't know how annoying they will become.  For winters, I'd definitely use never-seize on the wee screws that hold the caps to the mounting plate. I'd hate to try and remove them when they're seized.

Hmmm..... Thinking....  I guess one could just drill and tap holes in the wheel center, and not use the backing plate at all.....
