I pop onto CL to look at what CRX's are selling for because I really want to put a drivetrain in the back seat of one.

Lo and behold, someone has one for sale!

RWD CR-X

Now actually building one of these is more appealing to me than driving one, so buying one kind of defeats the purpose.

Not that I'm delusional enough to consider buying an unfinished project car in pieces for $10k in any case, but it was amusing to find someone selling exactly what I was wanting to build.

I mean, it's not like I want to build an LS 240sx or anything so pedestrian.

Oops... I meant to put this in the GRAM forum.

Welp...you put it in builds, so I guess you’ve got to do one yourself now.

Ive always wanted to do one in a Del Sol and make it look factory. That car just looks like it was meant to be MR.

"No cut corners."

Maybe so, but you're certainly a few corners away from the finish line.

This idea is one of my front runners, but it's definitely going to have to wait it's turn.

(Although I may or may not have just made an inquiry about a different shell.)

also, I think it needs more turbo

Preaching to the choir.

In reply to AClockworkGarage :

They really do look like an MR don't they?

For me I think the whole draw for the CR-X is the fact it doesn't look like an MR.

I really can't wait to take one in for a safety inspection. LOL

He's definitely had a couple "offs" though. LOL

This is an example of the classic CL set of pictures,  car in pieces, but asking 10K......

If he assembled it and showed it doing donuts, that would help justify spending big bucks for it.

I would rather build my own with a motor with more torque (V6 Acura or Accord would work).

I posted this in Craigslist find other day because of obsurdness off it. I know decent crx bring some decent coin but chopped up 10k wtf... but then again the next crx that popped up was a flood damage one for $2000

See, it just bolts right in! Add some box flairs and you are done.

I have no idea if it's true, or even where I heard/read it, but I remember learning the Del Sol was intended to be MR initially.

I remember years ago, probably 10+, on a surely-by-now-abandoned Honda forum someone was building a Del Sol as MR or twin engine. They were pretty far along IIRC.
