Crazy.
Not sure I have that much love for the rotary to make something like that!
But sweet baby jeebus, that is cool!
12 rotor engine, open exhaust, closed garage....
It looks like one of the guy is not wearing earplugs!
Who needs proper intake and exhaust manifold design when you have questionably fashionable pointy tips on them.
Teh Interwebz Man Says: Garvin can cruise the R12 around, for 400 maintenance-free hours' worth of pleasure boating...
Hey, that's on par with the engine they put in the RX-8 right?
Amazing project, have loved seeing this come along in the years!
Cant wait to see fuel injection ran and stuffed under the hood of some RX in the years to come!!!

My ears hurt just thinking about it.
From what I read, this should be as reliable as the factory engine in the RX-8.
I immediately thought boat engine, if nothing else they can use it as an anchor while waiting for the tow boat to haul them back in.
Rotary bashing aside, I am way impressed with anyone who can fab up something like this and make it run.

EXACTLY! All my friends see my bajillion parts downstairs and they just ask, whats the stop you from getting an 8 rotor shaft made? I said math and money. Usually the question follows up is what car is it going in and my reply is usually boat.
Call me a pessimist but I want to see some dyno charts supporting his 1400 horsepower claims. I just don't think there is any way that terrible exhaust header design could do it.
A 4 rotor is basically two 2 rotor engines, this 12 rotor is basically three 4 rotor engines (or six 2 rotor engines). 1400hp total is like getting 235hp each from a six pack of 2 rotor engines, probably about right for near stock 13b NA engines.
I'd like to know how much it weighs.

~800lbs according to the article. Obviously perfect for a locost, if you can use the rotor housings as part of the structure.

it said right in the article that he is still tuning it. He even admitted those were estimates to it's potential.
Boats have weird exhaust manifolds. Unless that thing is going to be out in the open, it needs water injection to keep the manifolds and exhaust cool.. it does strange things to manifold design
