I used a pipe cleaner for the EGR passages in the intake manifold.

What YouTube tutorial do you guys recommend for showing how to do this cleaning?

Nice! The V is peak prius, IMHO. I can't speak to your codes, but video #17 on this post shows removal of the EGR pipe and cooler.

A pressure washer, purple power, and oxyclean (the last two combined with heat) are useful for cleaning out the pipe and cooler. Not sure how to clean the valve itself, or if it requires service while everything is out. I'm also not sure if any gaskets need to be replaced

I'll be doing this the day after Christmas. Prius Chat users says this is a 8/10 on the difficulty scale...it appears to be a 2/10 on the GRM scale.

Just got done with this. Quick notes:

-Videos are spot on and everything was pretty straight forward.

-Buying the EGR cooler ahead of time and cleaning it is definitely the way to go-soaking it with vinegar and oxy-clean will work but because it had to soak over night a one day job became two.

-If you're already in there it probably also makes sense to do the spark plugs if they are original. Toyota superseded the spark plug with a hotter version, probably because these engines are burning more oil than originally planned.

-I also added an oil catch can. Hopefully this will keep the intake a little cleaner and prevent the cold-start knock as well.

I just cleaned the junkyard egr pipe and cooler yesterday in my new to me ultrasonic cleaner.  Had to do the cooler in two batches because it wouldn't all fit.
