Second generation Opel Manta, as Luke already said. Pretty much every village dance hall out in the sticks where I grew up in Germany had a couple of those parked outside in the late 80s/early 90s. And most of the body kits looked like they'd been fitted by a blind man's guide dog.

Still helped with pulling the village beauty queens, those things.

I dont know how long the zeemax mini kits have been around but i've always thought them a bit gaudy, especially on the clubman.

Still, it isn't like having a horse outside....

Found the book: Zender Das Program '92. It's basically their entire catalog from that year--all 200+ pages. I'd say their stuff was tasteful for the time. Flares, yes. Testarossa slats, no. Here's a taste:

I'm pretty sure they were more lights, the 80's were apparently a dark time in Europe and you needed alot of lighting

Flares without the wheels to back them up is just about the worst thing you can do to any car. Another 5 inches of wheel and tire and that thing would be awesome.

That pic is photoshop'd... here's another... it's from the Rapido website:

BTW, thundersaloon kits were pretty popular for Sierras:

And here's some Zender GD 626 goodness:

Not 80s, technically.... but some blatant similar cues:

I must admit, there are more cars in this thread that I like than that I don't like. A lot of them need less flashy paint jobs though.

Came across one of their old catalogs while sorting through some stuff in my office. The Ferrari 308 kit they had was simply terrible, I wish there was an online picture of it available....

The 80s... when even supercar manufacturers were trying to make it look like a body kit.

Ok, so this is not technically a body kit, but it IS the most awesomest car from the 80's....

That damn car is still cool 25 years on. My third pinewood derby car was based on that car too.

BTW, I know we're lame for doing this, but my brother and I still quote that damn movie, especially: Skank - "Do you smell a cop?" Gutterboy - "I smell french fries, but that don't make sense!"
