+1 on heat being just as bad. Missouri's humidity means it's not cooler in the shade. Imagine when you open the door being greeted by a warm wet down comforter blanket halfway through the dryer cycle that you then inhale too. Deep South may be worse, surely someone on here was at Ft Leonard Wood. Spring and Fall are nice. They say people in KC are more out of shape than normal because it gets the worst of both: bitterly cold winter, oppressive heat in the summer. Granted, that's a couple hours north.
This reminds me though, I was looking for something the other day and came across this not far from me at all-- SOMEONE is living it up!
