$21k. He's spot on about rent as that's what I pay someone else in the same complex.
Wait this is the link for the CL ad.
Wonder if he'd do a lease/own. Will I still be in DC ten years from now? $400 HOA fees? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Does anyone know where in the mid-Atlantic at most a 4 hr drive from DC where one could find a small workshop/garage for less?
Preferably Va due to weather but SoPa Western Md if affordable.
Lease/own would be the easy button at this point in my life.
Keep in mind I currently rent an identical unit nearby so I could make it work as a shop with effort. I just haven't so far because rental.
HOA requires all work inside ( easy to do ) unless you look like the rest of the neighbors. I don't look like the rest of the neighbors.
Maybe a custody agreement could be arranged. I only need it on Saturday nights, and Sunday morning drives to church.
Rusty, beat up Contour SVT...but it's cheap...and green...and a perfect Challenge candidate...

I'm not sure if I really want the car, or I am simply smitten with its John Player Special good looks....

1961 4x4 articulated German build tractor with a 2 stroke, air cooled, single cylinder diesel engine. $1500. The want is strong with this one.

That is so cool. I am so lucky that is across the country. Pyro would be ticked that I didn't discuss it before laying down the cash...

i proposed a fly and drive to my 19 yr old nephew that is into drifting bmw's & he's in for the trip. What could go wrong in just 1000miles?
owner says it 'just needs a tune up' whatever that means.
yes, I'm taking a week off work and have AAA

That means it needs head gaskets
A housemate of mine had one of those in the early 90's. I think I saw him replace the head gaskets at least 3 times! Interesting car though (spare tire on top of the motor).

Unfortunately the picture is terrible, just of the interior. Of more interest is the price/miles. $33,000, 5000 miles. That's a pretty steep discount on the $41,000+ that this thing was two years ago.

Orly! We have had a back and forth In email.
What was your spider sense? It seems pretty nice.

This would already be in my garage if I had a way to get it 2 hours north to my house. I guess that is a perk of NOT owning something that can tow a dolly/trailer!
Somebody buy this forlorn Escort GT!
In reply to stanger_missle :
I've had my eye on that one as well. I was trying to figure out if I could buy it at the Challenge next week and bring it home somehow. But probably can't.

I had a couple mid-80's GT's, one was a coupe. Cool little cars if the motors would hold together. My daughter totaled the coupe when she lane-changed into a Civic.
