So I just picked up the new ride, and my 3rd E46 (2003 xi). The general module was dead when I got the car, so they kindly swapped in one from a same year wagon that they had. The problem I am discovering now is that not all module's are created equal, and I need a sedan. I think I found one from a same year sedan, model, etc. but was wondering if any of you had to replace one of these, and if so, what sort of re-coding was required when you were done. When they put this one in, I lost my alarm, my mirrors won't function, and my trunk says it's ajar. I have been told that this is because they put a wagon version of the GM5 in. Am I to believe that if I put the sedan GM5 in, this should rectify the problem?

Also, has anyone ever replaced a window regulator? Any tips. Mine is shot in the back rear door and the notorious zip tie fix won't apply here.

I did the front window regulators in my moms e46 wagon, and it was straightforward and easy once you get the foam off without tearing it to get into the door
