03 focus zx3. I loved that car but unfortunately rear ended some Subaru on the highway and ended up trading it in for like 300$. Dumbest thing I've ever done. It wasn't fast but it handled ok, got great mpg and was super reliable

It was lighter than the 280's I've owned, I love carbs to this day, and with just SUs, a 260 head (larger exhaust valves) and a 2.5" exhaust, the thing was just lively and fun. My 320i is a close second, but I have to get it running again....
My 73 240Z as well. It has personality for sure.
My Mustang, wanted one in highschool but couldn't afford the insurance.
One day I will own an old Mini Cooper S but for now the Mustang will do.

Thanks. I waited 5 years for this one until the owner finally let it go. Only has 104,000km's on it, never seen winter.

Compared to the Miata I had previously the hatchback/cargo area is cavernous. I even hauled home some 8 foot long fluorescent light bulbs the other day. It's not a station wagon but it makes for one hell of a definiton to sport-utility vehicle.

Haha. I like that.
My Hyundai is in the bodyshop and I have been DD'ing my most recent purchase, the $900 86 F150. It almost didnt want to run this morning in the single digit temperatures, but just needed a little more attention before it would idle on its own to warm up. Having to put 90 miles a day on it, it was time to check fuel mileage...17mpg, Which is pretty awesome for a 28 year old fullsize truck, that probably needs a good tuneup. Its pretty much tuned just well enough to run at this point. And it has the wrong carb. And with the heat on at stoplights it gets all fumey in the cab. And it leaks small amounts of oil and coolant. And the parking brake barely works. The rear brakes might work. The headlights are terrible. If it sits out during a downpour i end up with a pool of water in the drivers side footwell. There's a draw on the battery so i unhook it every time i park it for more than a few hours.
But damn I like this truck a lot.
I really loved my good old 507
but it's hard not to pick my Z1, damn that was a fun car.
My amigos were all pretty darn jealous when i had this car though, with Andy's paint job, they were totts jelly.
My favorite is the one I still have. 2001 Focus with PowerWorks supercharger. 223WHP and 188TQ makes it go nicely and the SVT suspension and brakes make it handle very well.
If I had to have a second choice it would be the first car I bought for myself on graduating from college, an Alfa Romeo Gulia. It had its quirks but was a fun car to drive.
My '93 Civic EX.
I mean it is kinda a pile of crap. It REALLY needs new bushings but it has handled everything I have thrown at it like a champ.
Close second is my old Civic DX hatch just because it was one of the cheapest cars to own I've ever had. Great MPG, surprisingly fun to drive, could move furniture in the thing and was easy/inexpensive to maintain. Had I been smart enough to rust proof it against "Honda Rot", I'd probably still own it.

Back when I was in high school........... I went for a abandoned development yahoo!!! ride in a Brat while seated in the plastic bucket seats that were mounted facing back. They had posts with grips sticking out from the side. Hung on for dear life screaming the whole time. Could have diesd. Had a blast.
Oh man.....I still say my 1989 Dodge Colt GT Turbo. So much fun for so little money.
My favorite overall vehicle was my 1988 BMW K100. I loved that thing and rode it all over the place.
I am not surprised to see that for the most part, this is a list of low mass, low powered, very direct driving experience cars. My favorites have been of a similar ilk:
1964 volvo pv544 with the b18. As a friend put it "this thing has the turning radius of a horse" I spent lots of time looking out the door windows while pitched sideways on fire roads in the San Gabriel mountains in this thing. The mechanical throttle linkage was so far advances of the throttle feel available today it boggles.
1974 Fiat 128. Un reliable as hell- traded it for a 12 string Guild that is now worth 2k. Tenacious grip momentum car. Highway 38 up to Big Bear had to put up with this little buzzer for couple years.
1969 TR6. Sounded better than any car I have ever heard to this day. Women loved it, but I was too young to know what to do with the women. "Youth is wasted on the young".
1996 honda civic hatch. Koni yellows, St sway bars, Eibach Sportline springs, 99-00 SI brakes and master cylender, d16y5 lean burn engine. UNBELIEVABLY compliant and planted suspension. In real world driving, this thing at 8/10s outruns everything once you are moving while getting 40 mpg. Freaking fantastic.
I've driven or owned plenty of high horsepower cars, but you cant really drive... oh you get it: "It's more fun to.........
I'm still on the first car I consider "mine." It has served me well through high school, college, and beyond. It has helped me get through 6 moves. On separate occasions, it has has hauled a motorcycle, a 400 pound cast iron and steel stand mixer, a few thousand eggs, hundreds of pounds of produce, bicycles, and many more people than seatbelts. I have slept in it at the Daytona infield during the Rolex 24, somewhere on the highway in Louisiana at a rest stop, and in Savannah after a very productive St. Patrick's day. It operated without a hitch through 5 years of complete neglect.
She may not be so pretty now, but I think that I'm still attached.
The 84 GTI I bought last summer is quickly building steam towards earning those honors but before that I would say my 91 Honda Prelude Si. That was my first real project car and the first one I fell in love with head over heals when I saw it.
Hard question - I've really liked every car I've ever bought (well, except for the jeep liberty...)or I wouldn't have bought them, but it would be a tossup among the '70 BMW 2002 (first new car), the '84 GTi (what balance for the day), and my current AW11 MR2 (although the '94 Vette is rapidly growing on me - first car I've owned that is really nice just to look at, as well as to drive). If pushed for a decision, I'd say the fact that I've owned the MR2 for 14 years so far pushes the decision to Mr. Two.
