Saw the GRM tent as they Speed TV coverage was cutting to commercial at about 3:15 into the race - looked like everyone was having a good time! Wish I was there instead if here freezing my carcass in 7* temps.

wish I was there too. Almost bought a ticket, but they announced a 2nd round of layoffs, so I decided to hold my cards close.

I'm here and it's great!

Having to use the sun block.

We've had some great pit tours and met with many famous people. Was in the paddock when they brought both of the Ferraris in last night. Got to watch all the italian speaking dudes go to work. It was very interesting.

Patrick Demsey called my wife for me, but she hung up on him after he started talking to her.

Some great racing and many nice viewpoints

Me too, sunburnt instead of iced digits, met Patrick Dempsey (wife was with me and we got a photo with him) and Boris Said, Awesome racing in both classes.

Great company, great location just great....thanks to all involved.

I just got home about 30 minutes ago. That was a fun weekend, and thanks to everyone for making it so good. And what a finish: Brumos, Porsche and Donohue winning DP, and GRM's newest contributor--Patrick Long--winning GT.

I still say that we need name tags for these events. I was the guy in the GRM shirt and hat.

By the way, according to the people serving dinner Saturday night, our group is one of the nicest ones they ever encounter. Thanks. (The inside word is that it's a very desirable gig.)

Thanks.

I stopped by the tent a few times but I don't know any of the forums goers by face. I know David, Per, and Tim by face and that's it haha.

We were over in turn 3/4, had an awesome time, i pulled off a 25 hour day before i finally fell asleep in the grass next to the camp fire at 7am this morning (EDIT: I drank myself to sleep). Woke up at 8:30 and watched the rest of a great race.

We did have some a-holes go around all the camps that we were by including ours and snatch our coolers. The guys next to us said they caught them and beat the piss out of them but by then they had already made a cooler or two of ours disappear. Other than that had an awesome weekend, went by way to fast.

Can forum-goers have the option of purchasing bright-orange GRM shirts? To serve as a warning to the normies, of course.

That's a cool idea. Not sure about the orange... but yeah, 'twould be handy. I met lots of people, but not sure which if any were from the board.

I'll have to mess around with it (and get out a ruler), but I could have your info print out on a standard avery label. Something like this (only the right size): http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/132/attending/

I was thinking the same thing about tags, I would recommend our name with our forum name underneath, most people are only known via their online name

I went with forum name, with real name underneath, since a lot of people don't put their full name in their profile. And you could always write it in.

Like I said, I'd need to measure a standard avery label and make sure the printed page would line up correctly, but it wouldn't be all that hard to do. The link above is close.

EVERYONE should be wearing the offical GRM shirt that says

"berkeley this E36 M3"

If you want to get to know other people in person, you could always try: "Hello, my name is ( your name here )."

Nah. That never works with forumgoers. At a party, we're usually the ones staring at the spines of books on a host's bookshelf--trying to see if there's anything car related instead of talking to people who don't realize that "Miata" is the answer to just about every question. And if it isn't, the question was dumb anyway. Oh, unless the question is "Nattie Light?" and then you better say, "Yes" or a Honger will violate you.

I love this bar.

I'm sorry I wasn't around for much more than Saturday. Got back from a LA on a redeye with very red eyes.
