I'm on E30 #5, this time it's a vert. It is my answer.

The only official "answer" I've ever owned it my Miata. Of the remains of the list, someday I really like to own a C5 Z06, which I guess checks the "LS" box. None of the rest of the list appeals to me.

I, too, wonder how a Civic hatch isn't the answer to every question. If it were, I'd have owned two of the list.

Which raises the question: how is an 89-01 Civic, CRX, or Integra *not* one of the answers?

I dunno, man. My guess is because the mad-tyte-jdm-yo crowd has forever sullied their reputation as answer-ish cars. Also, wrong wheel drive.

I like almost all the answers.

Something with an LS; 3 F-bodies, I don't understand why everyone thinks LS1 cars are so expensive, they were all less than 4k one auto 2 T-56 cars.

Something with a Rotary; I've owned one RX7 non rotor powered, does that count?

A Miata; This is the answer, 11, yes 11

A P71; This is not the answer, I would never own one. Probably because I hate people that cruise up behind me at night in them, and don't want to be THAT guy.

A Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon; I've always had access to one, I think someone in my family has owned one of every generation except the newest one.

A diesel pickup/SUV; Once again always have had access to one through work but haven't felt the need to own one.

I agree EF Hondas and E30 BMWs also seem to be the answer. E30: I had one and hated almost every second of it, reminder don't buy cars out of fields in PA. EF's just 3 all challenge cars or potential ones.

"Or is it because you actually want all these things and can't afford any of them or some other reason?"

Mostly that, though I have very little interest in Dorito powered vehicles.

Nope.

No Suburban but my family has a base 2wd Expedition we use whenever someone needs to haul a big thing. That's close.

Rotaries are foreign to me and I think they sound like landscaping tools.

Miata? I'm 6'5"

I wouldn't mind owning a p71 to beat on. And the GTO is one of the few recent GM products that gets me excited.

I thought the answers were Miata, 3-series BMW, P71, AW11 MR-2, Corvette, and Suburban. No wonder I keep flunking the test!

In all seriousness, no I haven't owned most of them with the exception of one MR2. Too tall and too rainy around here for convertibles, too reverse-snob for a Beemer, too much of a small car enthusiast for a P71, too much of a wallflower for a Corvette, too streetable to need a tow vehicle.

No, I haven't owned any of the 'answers', although I wouldn't mind an E30/E36.

Regarding the rotary, I haven't owned one, but had the best possible scenario: my old boss was a rotary fanatic and a nice guy. He bought 'em, he worked on 'em, he filled their rapidly-emptying gas tanks, and I got to drive once in a while! Best of all worlds scenario, and recommended if you can get it.

The only one on that list for me would be the diesel pickup. Now I feel left out. Thanks a lot...

I got into adulthood and have too many kids to take the financial risks and frivolity associated with many of the answers. I am a bad GRMer, really. I've done a lot of cool stuff, but not nearly as much as most of the folks on board here.

I've owned 0 of the cars on the list.

The Miata and the RX7 are the only ones I'm really interested in owning.

As an auto tech you dont have to own stuff to have a pretty fair amount of experience driving and working on them. I've owned a good number of XJs and a diesel pickup, but nothing else on 'the list' for various reasons that would mostly make me less popular if i spelled them all out, just like my political opinions.

The only thing i have NO experience driving or working on from OP's list is rotaries. I've ridden in a low-13 second n/a FB which was a thrill ride for sure, but none of the RX7s/RX8s are on my bucket list although i considered an engine-swapped rx8 for a long time. Oddly enough, though, i think i would have owned a miata by now if they had come with rotaries. I dont particularly like 'normal' miatas other than NCs. Go figure.

Ive still owned ~50 cars and at least 10-20 of them have been pretty cool in my opinion.

Of that list, I've only ever owned a rotary (twice).

Miata: not much for convertibles

LS: the cars they come in are usually too big or too expensive for me, and I haven't yet owned a car I really wanted to swap one in to (but hopefully will soon)

P71: Nah, not my cup of tea

A Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon: Too big, too thirsty, not my cup of tea

A diesel pickup: Not my cup of tea. Toyota Taco's are more my size.

E30/E36: Thought about it, but I prefer the Italians to the Germans. Don't know why, don't have anything bad to say about BMW.

I have owned none of the above.......

LS - I had my V8 addition... lets see... Pontiac 400 Ram Air III, 428 SCJ, numerous SBF... a V8 is no longer needed

Rotary - not interested.

Miata... I like a permanent roof... and I'm one of those that thinks Mazda ripped off Lotus, so I've never been a fan

AP71 - Does my 1968 GTO apply? It was a BIG car....

The only truck I've ever owned was a 1971 Ford Courier.... I just don't like BIG...

E30 - Break My Window.... and my wife HATES the brand

Now as to being the answer.... there really isn't any... but I like to think 80s rwd Corollas are tough to beat.....
