Hello, im sorry if i put this in the wrong section. Just figured i would introduce myself. My name is Mike and i love motorsports, but circuit racing and rally are my favorites. I owned a acura integra gsr ( was stolen and crashed) a 1986 ae86 gts with a 20v blacktop swap, and now a bone stock second gen miata.
I really like the miata, its small, lightweight, rwd, just like the ae86 but something draws me to it more.
Im hoping this forum is more calm and appropriate and supportive of people when they want to do things differently, i was flamed hard on other forums for not wanting to turbo my bp and wanting to run an all motor setup with a motor that can produce more power, torque and driveability than the bp can ever produce in n/a form. I was suddenly a tool, a hater, a fanboy and an idiot for wanting to be different.
Anyways its nice to meet you all and be a part of this forum.
Sounds like you found the right place.
You will meet far more enablers than haters here. Welcome to the mad house.
Welcome. You will do well here. See these links about a 3cyl Miata as testament that this board will not fault you for taking your own approach.

No problem. You've got a Miata, now go buy a P71 and a Cherokee. Also, don't forget to look through all our profile garages and vote our cars up.

Im from norwalk, not too far from statford, but im in the process of moving to cape coral, florida within the next few months.
About the haunting: Promotional material for the film claimed that it is based on the "true story" of paranormal activities experienced by the family of Carmen Snedeker in the 1980s.[6] The Snedekers moved into a house in Southington, Connecticut in order to live closer to the UConn Health Center, where Carmen's son was being treated for cancer. The family would later claim that it was plagued by some manner of demonic presence. Mortuary equipment was discovered in the basement, and it was later found that the house had been a funeral home. Carmen described the demons: "One of the demons was very thin, with high cheekbones, long black hair and pitch black eyes. Another had white hair and eyes, wore a pinstriped tuxedo, and his feet were constantly in motion."[7] The house was examined by Ed and Lorraine Warren. According to a write-up on the case in 2009 by NBC, the morticians that worked in the mortuary were allegedly involved in necromancy and/or necrophilia with the corpses,[8] and the room where the two youngest children stayed was previously the show room for caskets; down the hall was where bodies were prepared for viewing. Lorraine Warren would later state that, "In the master bedroom, there was a trap door where the coffins were brought up, and during the night, you would hear that chain hoist, as if a coffin were being brought up. But when Ed went to check he found two women down there dancing around in circles and singing; when he walked towards them, they disappeared."[8][9] In response to the film, Lorraine would later say the actual case was "much, much scarier than any movie could ever be," and that the film was "very, very loosely based" on their investigation of the house.[8] Lorraine Warren has told the Associated Press that the house was cleared of any presence after an exorcism conducted in 1988.
There is a film about it but it, doesnt portray it very good, alot of stuff is made up.

Welcome!
What's your goal with the Miata?
I see you mention a potential motor swap, that's interesting. Have you swapped a motor before and are familiar with the costs?

Hi, i slowly want to convert my miata into an autox, circuit track car.
Starting with coilovers, sway bars, wheels the essentials. Then my next step is aero, fenders flares, side skirts, front splitter, etc.. I want to keep the stock 1.8 stock, maybe just an intake, exhaust, and headers for now.
My plan for the motor is a naturally aspirated setup. I own a s13 sr20det block already. I plan on building it with 12.5.1 pistons, new bearings, eagle rods, and maybe an 87 mm overbore.
Next i want to use a neo vvl sr20 head.
Im sure your familiar with a neo vvl head but i will explain. They are very similiar to hondas vtec. With a computer control cam lift phase. These heads flow extremely well. Up in to the high 300's when prepped for racing. I can also retain street driveablilty from the low cam.
Anyways, i want to mate the two together creating a high compression vvl monster. A kit exist to do this, sold from mazworx who specializes in this.
I discovered mounts and an oil pan specifically designed for the miata from thai phoon of australia. Very expensive but the work is top notch. And mate it to a 6 speed transmission.
Along with a standalone ecu, custom headers, and itb's
This is going to be very expensive, and turboing the bp is way more cost effective. And this is going to take a very long time, purchasing parts at different times. I can wait though because i want to practice with a slower engine at first.
I have swapped a 20v blacktop into an ae86 and helped friends with vtec swaps in there hondas. I know this will be fairly expensive but i will appreciate the car alot more, plus no one will have the same setup and maybe i can pave the way for other people to do the same. It will deffinently be fast and reliable.
Theres something about the feeling of n/a and response that i love, not to mention the sound at 9k rpms
This thread is a lot more coherent and well-thought-out than the last thread i read about a 280whp SR20VE VVL being swapped into an NB time attack car.
