Hey folks, I hope to tap into some GRM Honda knowledge
I am in need of a running condition B18A(I have 2 blocks but no time to rebuild for this project), but cannot find one @ a reasonable price within 100 miles.
I did find a wrecked(rear qtr hit) 95 'Teg 45 miles away for a reasonable price.
If I used the B18B block with the B18A engine harness, brain, and cable tranny that's already in the car do you think this would work?
I know the B is OBD1 and the A is OBD0, but I can't think of anything that would keep this from running. I would likely have to run the A distributor, but I have a fully dressed A in the car already. It just has a ventilated block. . .
Thanks for any help!
I don't have experience with B series but my experience with Hondas has been that swapping different year motors works so long as you retain the original intake and exhaust manifolds. Basically swap long blocks.

Yes, it works and I've done it. Just use the chassis specific wiring harness, dist, ecu, trans, mounts, etc and mount it all to the new motor, don't forget a timing belt while the engine is in the floor

+1 - though I did find out recently (after replacing 2 alternators in as many years) that the alternator for the B18B is not the same as the B18A...and it's a berkeleying pain in the ass to swap in the integra.
Fantastic! Thats what I was figuring, but hesitated to pull the trigger until I got confirmation. Now I hope no one has been interested in a wrecked 95 Teg 4 door with 179K!
